Terms and Conditions for Non-Profit Tutoring Service
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of our non-profit educational tutoring service provided by Academic Empowerment Project. By using our Service, you agree to comply with these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the Service.
1. Eligibility:
Our tutoring service is available to students of grades 2-12 seeking academic assistance. By using the service, you confirm that you are either the student seeking tutoring or the legal guardian of the student.
2. Services Provided:
a. Our Service offers academic tutoring in various subjects, including but not limited to mathematics, science, language arts, and computer science.
b. Tutoring sessions are conducted online.
c. We aim to provide qualified and knowledgeable tutors, but we cannot guarantee the availability of specific tutors.
3. Scheduling and Cancellation:
a. Tutoring sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
b. If you need to cancel or reschedule a tutoring session, please provide reasonable notice to us and the assigned tutor.
c. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule tutoring sessions due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will make every effort to provide an alternative session.
4. Non-Discrimination Policy:
We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Our tutoring services are available to all students in need.
5. Confidentiality:
a. Tutors shall not share, disclose, or exploit any private information obtained during tutoring sessions for personal or professional gain.
6. Code of Conduct:
a. Users are expected to treat tutors and students with respect and courtesy.
b. Any form of harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of tutoring services.
7. Intellectual Property:
a. All tutoring materials, including notes, handouts, and other resources provided by tutors, are for the student's personal use only and may not be reproduced or distributed without written permission.
b. Any materials or resources provided by the student for tutoring purposes must not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
c. Any syllabus or curriculum provided by AEP are for the student's learning or volunteer's reference only and should not be used for other purposes.
8. Liability and Disclaimer:
a. While we strive to offer quality tutoring, we cannot guarantee specific academic results.
b. We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from the use of the service.
9. Modification of Terms:
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective upon posting on our website. Continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law:
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Texas.
11. Termination:
We reserve the right to terminate tutoring services and deny access to the Service to any user who violates these Terms or engages in deliberate disruptive or harmful behavior.
By using our non-profit tutoring service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
